I want to write a fascinating post about my book signing on Saturday. Then I want to copy and paste it onto my louderthanwords blog and get that off my conscience. However, sometimes in life we don’t get everything we want. This is one of those times.
There just isn’t a whole lot to say about it.
- I smiled a lot.
- Barnes & Noble ordered 70 of my books and they all sold out.
- I can never remember if Noble is spelled “nobel” or “noble.”
- The tablecloth was blue.
- I drank lots of water.
And that is just about the extent of it.
When they asked me to keep a blog on the LOUDER THAN WORDS website I thought it was a great idea. After all I love to blog. And I sort of thought that maybe they’d have some magic technology that would make my posts magically appear over there when I posted them here.
Not so. So I decided that whenever I did a post about my book I would copy and paste it over there.
Well for one thing coping and pasting is a bother. And for another thing my posts are never good enough or about-my-book enough.
I read Stargirl again. Oh to be the girl in the poofy yellow dress with earrings like little silver trucks and a small sunflower on my wrist, leading the bunnyhop across the golf course at night.
To just be me. Who cares what they think?
To go to a stranger’s funeral and cry.
I want to be Stargirl.
I don’t want to go to the fair and smile and smile and smile and sell books. I don’t want to get on a plane and fly back to Colorado. I don’t want to go anywhere. I just want to stop time and stay here at home with my family forever. For a very long time at least. But without being sick.
