We always take a plate of cookies to each of the neighbors. Doors are open at Christmas time that aren’t otherwise, and we’ve found it’s a good way to share the love of Jesus.

My favorite Christmas tradition is the night before Christmas with my kids. We open gifts and eat special snacks and have all the twinkly lights on and a candle burning. We play Christmas music. It’s one of the few nights of the year we’re all together in one house.

Christmas…. that nostalgic time of year when eyes are starry and faces are happy. I love how somehow this time of year brings out the best in humanity, of giving gifts and love to family, friends, and those less fortunate.

Hi and thanks for this opportunity to possibility win a book. For the past number of years, my family has been going to Florida over Christmas. But because hauling a bunch of gifts down there is a hassle, we started a tradition of exchanging names after we get to Florida. Then right after we exchange, we all go to the mall together and have an hour or two to do our shopping. It’s fun because we try to avoid each other at the mall. Then after we get back, we give each other our gifts. No gift wrap, no bows, no fluff. This has become something we look forward to every year because it’s hassle free and fun!

I love all things Christmas, but one of my faves is my family goes Christmas caroling to my grandparents and a childless great aunt and uncle. Every year I treasure this more, as they are now in their 80s, and my one grandpa passed away in his 90s this past year.

From my childhood: That each of us eight siblings would give some gift, however small, to each of the others. The anticipation of giving was such fun!

We did that too, always on a voluntary basis, and now we just each bring three of a favorite gift, exchange names and each of us goes on with three of giftings

Not sure on my favorite Christmas traditon, but I’m feeling very nostalgic about everything that is missing this year. Guess maybe that should help me focus on the real meaning of Christmas without all the distractions, lovely though they may be!

My favorite tradition is to go see Christmas lights around our little town on Christmas eve. We’ve been doing this for 32 years. With a new granddaughter this year, we just realized we don’t have enough seats in any vehicles to get all of us in. I’m willing to sit in the way back just to keep this going!
