So this is going to be a very short post but go here if you want to hear a bit about my life, via my roommate Esta.
In other news I have decided that bikinis on little girls are one thing if they are designed for little girls. But if they are string-bikinis with little ruffles in strategic areas to make the kindergartener look like she has a few women-parts, well, I’m sorry, but that is just plain wrong. The poor girl, she’s already very pretty at 6, and her mom is obviously teaching her that tight and skimpy clothing is beautiful.
I felt loved today. I got lots of hugs from small people. And one girl wore a skirt and flip-flops that matched mine, and she was so happy that we looked alike. She was asking me about my covering, and I tried to explain why I wore one and the other Christians there didn’t. And then she said, “The people who wear those, they’re called Mennonites.”
Here, you see, everyone knows what a Mennonite is. But the thing that disturbs me is that the covering is seen as a weird Menno thing, not as a Biblical thing at all.
That’s all for now, folks.
Emily can you tell me more about the headcovering? I’m curious. Thanks!
